Hello! My name is Angela Josephine La Mantia (La-man-tea-uh), and I love telling stories. So much so that I do it for a living. I’m based in my hometown, Kennett Square, PA.

Kennett is known as the Mushroom Capital of the World. If you’ve never been, you’ve got to try the mushroom soup—it’s worth the hype. But this is an about me page, not a KSQ tourism guide (though I could talk about the coffee at Talula’s Table all day). Anyway, let’s begin the journey, shall we?

My love for storytelling began right here in the Mushroom Capital. As a teenager, my friends and I made a lot of dumb videos and short films. I’d copy the movies I watched on Turner Classic Movies, and they’d bring their bizarre Adult Swim humor. The results? Mixed, to say the least. But those chaotic, DIY projects sparked my passion and shaped my approach to independent filmmaking.

In the early 2010s, I attended Full Sail University in Orlando, where I was assigned to create a marketing video for a news segment in my HD News class. I convinced my favorite restaurant to be the subject, and I had so much fun that I started picking up clients while still in school. By graduation, I had helped launch a brewery and created a tour video for the largest exotic mushroom distributor in the U.S.

With one (1) single gig secured, I packed my car—half full of my college apartment (the other half I sold to afford the move)—and headed to Los Angeles. I like to say PA gave me the foundation, Orlando taught me the technique, but LA was where I honed my craft.

LA’s film industry drew me in with its glitz and glamor, though I also made marketing content to pay the bills (which, since it was LA, still had its fair share of glitz and glamor). The industry was daunting at first, but I gained invaluable experience, worked with a wide range of clients, and even got to work with Danny Trejo!

By 2019, I was ready for a change. I left LA and settled in the quieter town of Ocala, FL, where I landed a role as a Senior Digital Creator—which, ironically, was anything but quiet. Balancing content creation for 11 dealerships with various freelance clients pushed my production skills to new heights. Whether I was shooting on-the-fly videos, writing social posts, or capturing photos, I had finally reached a zenith in crafting content.

In 2022, my co-director Blake C. Hollaway and I premiered our short film 13 Knots at the Bridgeport Film Festival, winning “Best Sci-Fi/Thriller.” BIFF deepened my love for collaboration and storytelling, and in 2024, we returned with Why Did I Buy a Film Camera—this time, a comedy. We were honored to win the Audience Award and “Best Comedy.” Winning in two different categories was both humbling and exciting.

We’re currently entering Film Camera (as I like to call it) into more festivals, so keep your eyes peeled!

After four years in Ocala, I started missing my hometown. When I received a job offer as a Photographer and 3D Artist at Mayzon in New Castle, DE—just 30 minutes from home—I knew it was time. At Mayzon, I’ve been able to push my Photoshop, design, and Blender skills further than ever before. And that’s where I am today, though I’m always open to new opportunities.

Much like my hometown—once a quiet spot, now a thriving hub—I’ve grown and evolved while staying true to my roots. Looking back, I’m grateful for the exciting projects, invaluable lessons, and opportunities to tackle marketing challenges for a wide range of clients.

If you’re looking for engaging, creative content, let’s make something awesome together!
