Hey! My name is Robert La Mantia (La Man-tea-uh) and I am an award-winning filmmaker and content creator. I’m based in my hometown of Kennett Square, PA, the Mushroom Capital of the World. Although Kennett is my hometown, I only just moved back last year. The path back home has been quite an adventure!
My filmmaking journey began in Kennett during my teenage years. Together with friends, we made videos inspired by John Ford westerns, Martin Scorsese gangster movies, and infused with the quirky humor of Tim and Eric and late-night Adult Swim programming. These playful videos ignited my passion for storytelling and laid the foundation for my future in film.
In the early 2010s, I moved to Orlando to attend Full Sail University. Here, I discovered a passion for creating marketing videos while nurturing my love for filmmaking. By the time I graduated, I had successfully helped launch a brewery and created a tour video for a mushroom farm.
The allure of Los Angeles beckoned next, where I found myself immersed in its vibrant film industry. Initially green and unfamiliar, I soon found my footing, gaining valuable experience on numerous sets and becoming comfortable with the discomfort that comes with growth.
In 2019, I moved to Ocala, Florida, embracing the role of Senior Digital Creator. This chapter instilled discipline in me, elevating my video production skills to new heights. I developed a plethora of templates in my mind, streamlining my output and becoming more efficient and effective in my work.
In 2022, my co-director Blake C. Hollaway and I had the honor of premiering our short film "13 Knots" at the Bridgeport Film Festival, where we won “Best Sci-Fi/Thriller.” The Bridgeport Film Festival, or BIFF, is a true haven for artists, and this recognition introduced me to many more lifelong collaborators, deepening my love for storytelling. In 2023, Blake and I returned to BIFF, screening our movie “Cloaked.”
Also in 2023, I launched the YouTube Channel Dodecahedron with a focus on creating more narrative content more frequently. I transitioned from making shorts to producing weekly 4-10 minute videos, expanding my creative reach and connecting with a wider audience.
Additionally, in 2023, I returned to Kennett Square, accepting a position as a Photographer and 3D Artist at Mayzon. Pushing my photography skills to new heights and mastering Blender has been both challenging and rewarding, adding depth to my creative repertoire. Much like the town of Kennett I’ve come back to, I find that there are many new and awesome things about me, but I’m still the same Rob making those goofy movies with friends.
Reflecting on my journey, it’s been an incredible ride filled with exciting projects, learning experiences, and the joy of solving marketing challenges for diverse clients. I’m eager to see what the future holds and am always open to collaborating with new clients. Who knows? Maybe you reading this will be the next client I get to create super cool content for!
Thank you for taking the time to learn about my story. I look forward to connecting with you soon!
